Yuletide 2015 roundup

My assignment:

Without Losers , Where Would the Winners Be?, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for fujiidom, Charlie/Dee, PG, 4600 words

High school flashbacks, which were fun to write, especially the part where Dennis slimes his weirdness everywhere. I restarted this fic four times, so obviously this fandom came super easy to me. Anyway, I might finish one of my abandoned false starts, where Dee writes terrible Kindle porn and Charlie does her social media promotion.

My main collection treats:

Rolling Destiny’s Dice, Calvin & Hobbes: Gritty Reboot Trailer for jedi_penguin, Gen, PG, 1100 words.

Yeah, I don’t even know. Sometimes you have two hours free at work and write a trippy universe folding in on itself fic about Calvin & Hobbes from the tiger’s point of view. What.

The Thin Line Between Lonely and Alone, Turn for Devilc, Benjamin Tallmadge/Caleb Brewster, PG, 1700 words

This was just an excuse to write Ben/Caleb kissing. Caleb was fun to write. :D

My madness collection treats, both of which I wrote in under an hour on Christmas Day:

Talk Less; Drink More, Hamilton for Citagazze, Hamilton/Burr, PG, 285 words

Burr gets Hamilton to shut up for a minute and is probably too pleased with himself over it.

Genius, Limitless for htbthomas, Brian/Rebecca (ish), G, 250 words

Rebecca is the best! Brian and I both know this.

Gifts for me:

No Restraint, Hamilton, Hamilton/Burr, 6250 words, NC-17 by cartographies

Charlie is Bad Under Pressure (Or: Most of the Gang Finds Out), It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Charlie/Dee, 550 words, R by Missy

I already linked the first one, which I adored, but I also got a Madness treat and it’s ADORABLE. Exactly how I like Charlie and Dee together.

Sign-Ups Close in 48 Hours

Sign-ups close at 9am UTC on October 27, 2015 - 48 hours from this post.

Click to see the time in your time zone

Click to see a countdown to when sign-ups will close

Although the sign-ups close on Tuesday in the time zone we have chosen, this may essentially be late on Monday for some people. You do NOT have all of Tuesday to sign up.

You can read the sign-up instructions, and click through to the sign-up form, from the previous Yuletide Admin post on LiveJournal or on Dream width.

Please remember:

  • Check the tag set carefully before signing up.
  • Some characters (or fandoms) in the tag set will not appear in the drop-down menus in the sign-up form. This is a known bug. To add such a name to your form, copy and paste it into your form from the tag set, and press enter, tab, or comma.
  • Do not request or offer Any or 0 characters in a fandom if you have a clear preference for some rather than others. If you put Any or 0 characters in a request, you don’t get to choose which characters you get (out of the characters in the tag set). That choice is up to your author.
  • If none of your offers have requests: Please try to avoid this (by looking for more things you could write), but if it happens to you, we will contact you during matching. You can check this by looking at the Sign-Up Summary.
  • If none of your requests have offers: Bucket offers do not show up in the Sign-Up Summary. That means that you could have a request sitting at 1,0 when there is an offer for it. Don’t despair! And if all else fails, there is the pinch hit list.
  • Similarly, there are a lot of sign-ups at the last minute. You could be more matchable than you think.

Nominations close in 44 hours!

yuletidetreasure

Noms close 9am UTC 3rd Oct ( Time for me? Countdown).
You can edit your nominations until then, and add evidence to the evidence posts.

A few reminders:
Check the numbers on your fandoms! Remember to check crossovers on FF.NET, as a separate category.

Fandoms that include the words “- All Media Types” or “- and Related Fandoms” are rarely allowed. They will definitely be rejected if you have not made a case for them under that label. Please check eligibility rules and the evidence requirements.

If submitting a totally new fandom, make sure it follows the wrangling guidelines for its media type. For example, films should include a year, and books should have an author.

For ambiguous characters (characters with a short one-word designation, or characters that might appear in multiple fandoms) put the fandom name, or an abbreviation of it, in brackets afterwards.

If your character nomination was rejected for having been nominated in another fandom, disambiguate with Character (Fandom Name).

Given that there may be more than one character who has used a superhero name, please use secret (or not so secret) identity names where possible.

Nominations are OPEN

yuletidetreasure

Nominations are now OPEN!. They will close at 9am UTC on 3 October. What time is that for me?

You can submit, edit, or delete your nominations until this period ends. By nominating, you help create the set of fandoms and characters that will be used in this year’s Yuletide. However, you do not have to submit nominations in order to sign up later. If you are unfamiliar with nominating on AO3, or for Yuletide, please see the new nominations tutorial written by kristin and Pameluke.

Nominations are also covered in the Yuletide FAQ. Before nominating, please check whether your fandoms are likely to be eligible according to this year’s rules:

2015 Eligibility Rules on LJ;

2015 Eligibility Rules on DW.

For confusing or borderline fandoms, you may need to submit evidence to show why your fandom is distinct and eligible:

Eligibility post on LJ

Eligibility post on DW

Please use AO3 canonical tags (where possible) or follow the Archive’s wrangling style when entering your fandoms and characters. Consistently formatted tags are a big help when it comes time for tagmods to sort them. If you’re not sure how to label your fandom, please ask.

When a character could appear in many different versions across many fandoms, we recommend that you put a fandom disambiguation tag after their name.

For example:

  • Bonnie Parker (Bonnie and Clyde (1967))
  • Robin Hood (Prince of Thieves)
  • Tulku (The Shadow 1994)
  • Leonardo da Vinci (Da Vinci’s Demons)

would all be helpful character names in their respective fandoms.

Some fandoms, especially short ones such as music videos, do not need character nominations.

Some will not be allowed through without them: RPF and Anthropomorphic fandoms. Please double-check the spelling and format of your nominations before submitting the form. Have fun!
