honestly can someone who’s fandom famous organize a whiparound to pay for hosting an open source social networking platform. i will technically support

there’s:

- peepso (technically open source; $250/year for integrated features; a wordpress plugin - scaling of user count unknown)

- humhub (free, facebook-ish)

at a minimum; I’m sure there are others. open source + self hosted is a lot of work but these both have permissive licensing
