The people who run the barackobama tumblr are my favorite people on the internet, except maybe the @tacobell twitter.
Obama Revelation of the Day: In Pulitzer Prize-winner David Maraniss’ new book, Barack Obama: The Story, we get quite the insight into the president’s bullying, pot-smoking past. Money quote:
Barry also had a knack for interceptions. When a joint was making the rounds, he often elbowed his way in, out of turn, shouted “Intercepted!,” and took an extra hit. No one seemed to mind.

I can’t be the only one thinking he must have been beloved by everyone to get away with that shit, right? Only awesome people get to intercept and double-hit without retribution.
I can think of nothing witty to add
oh my god
that’s the best thing i’ve seen all day.
I don’t know what’s in Rush Limbaugh’s heart so I’m not going to comment on the sincerity of his apology. What I can comment on is the fact that all decent folks can agree that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse. And, you know, the reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about Malia and Sasha. And one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about - even ones I may not agree with them on. I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens. And I wanted Sandra to know that I thought her parents should be proud of her.
You know, for all those people who honestly think he’s such a horrible, do-nothing president. Not to mention those who voted republican out of spite because they think Obama hasn’t done enough for LGBT issues, which I’ve seen a lot. You are actively fucking the rest of us over. If you think he didn’t do enough before, congratulations, you’ve made it literally impossible for him to do things now.
I agree with this so hard.
This criticism (that Obama hasn’t accomplished enough in the 2 years he’s been President) bugs the FUCK out of me. Especially because it’s often made by people who largely don’t understand politics, the legislative process, or the actual role of the executive. I’ve also noticed this argument is made by the same people who, in 2004, said it doesn’t matter who is voted into office, because Republicans and Democrats are all the same.
What you said. Also, the site linked is great.
