This Hurricane Irene insanity has been great for local stores and supermarkets. The rush to buy just about EVERYTHING (except brussels sprouts) has emptied supermarket shelves, hardware stores, gas stations and liquor shelves in my area of Brooklyn. I imagine the same goes for most of NYC.
Very soon we shall find out if all this hoarding and prepping was worth it.

lol amazing. i had to go to sam’s club for diapers yesterday and i wound up buying a thing of cold cuts just because i thought my cart looked too empty in comparison to the 10 billion other people there. but we already had bread and water! also booze.
