I’ve been reading And the Band Played On, which is a fairly old book, but it’s really interesting how it reads like a disaster novel when it’s based on true events. I have the same pit in my stomach reading this that I do when reading, like, Stephen King or something and I just want to shake the 80’s.

Disgust has absolutely no ethical weight. If you are basing your ethical positions on the emotion of disgust you should stop, it is entirely unjustified and leads to a huge amount of harm.
