My all-time favorite Hypmic fic is “I [24 M] am in love with my best friend [20M].” Wonderfully witty, and each character is so well written. I wish I could write half as well as this person can.

To plug a few authors, everything I’ve read by Marks and Bent has been incredible and thought provoking. They’re also both incredibly fascinating people to talk to, with such wonderful thoughts. I admire the both of them a lot.

A few other fics I enjoy a good deal:

• goose-bumps by Cha_haya. Very comedic and well-written. An AU where a goose leads you to your soulmate while still getting up to usual goose shenanigans.
• bragging rights by raseimon is a very cute, feel-good fic. A story in which Hifumi’s marriage to Doppo is accidentally discovered at work.
• we are just heartbeats apart. by nyavericked. This is one of two stories that seriously made me reconsider how I write Hifumi and how I interpret Hifumi’s character overall. Very thought-provoking.
• turning, turning by mezzosaka. This is the other one. Both go in very different directions, but I love the interpretations.
• 我らはみな罪の子 (Japanese) by はる. I thought it was a very interesting idea and well-executed. An AU in which clones are raised for organ harvesting purposes.

Also, the 12 Days of Dickmas (very NSFW, if the name did not tip you off) gets an honorable mention because the text Cat used to make the left side of Jakurai’s newspaper in the image below came from Chapter 2 of that fic.

The mental image of Jakurai reading about his teammates having very kinky sex, saying, “So the time has finally arrived…”, and immediately thinking of Ramuda on the next page will never not make me laugh.
