Derek’s loft is so dusty, though. Where does he put the pillows when he takes them off to sleep at night? He can’t just toss them on the floor, they’d be filthy. Does he pile them neatly in a line next to him like another person in the bed?

Disgust has absolutely no ethical weight. If you are basing your ethical positions on the emotion of disgust you should stop, it is entirely unjustified and leads to a huge amount of harm.
