Sometimes I get anxious and a bit terrified to admit I’m personally pro-life (as in for myself, not for anyone else), but politically pro-choice. For all that pro-choicers are adamant to giving women the right to choose for themselves, they are incredibly close-minded to the idea that a woman chooses life. And I think it defeats the points they are trying to make.
(Don’t even get me started on certain atheists. I believe in God AND science! I know, weird, amirite?)
That makes perfect sense to me. Your body, your choice. Nuance is so hard to see in the abortion debate, for some reason. Like I’m not anti-abortion for myself, which people think is odd because I have a kid. But I wanted this kid! He was planned! I don’t want all the kids all the time, even if I still may want more at some point in the future. And of course I use BC, but nothing’s 100%.
Joe Paterno’s right to his dignity is not more valuable than the right of children not to be assaulted by adults. Joe Paterno’s right to employment if he can’t perform up to standards is not more important than the right of Penn State to run a safe campus. If Joe Paterno’s highest priority is truly providing quality education, his loyalty to those values should have been higher than his loyalty to a man whose conduct represents a hideous rot in those values. You only stand for what you say you represent if you stand for it when it’s hard. I cannot possibly imagine a cause so mighty and righteous that it outweighs shrugging aside child abuse and child assault. Certainly not football.

his girlish scream was my second favorite part of the episode, after the greek gods sketch.
The Greek gods thing is the best sketch I’ve seen in awhile, but the one-off joke about The Real Housemice of Avenue A just made me laugh inappropriately loud. Also, all the dolphin jokes.
