Pam has superhuman strength and speed. She can breathe icy wind or melt through metal with her laser vision. She has supersonic hearing and skin so tough, bullets are useless. 

And she’s a soccer mom. Pam likes cooking cause it’s fun to taste new foods and try new things. She likes knitting and is always smiling, even when captured by Hydra or being held at gun point by Skrull. She’ll even reach out and pinch their cheeks or scold them for swearing.

Through the whole movie, she uses her powers by accident.

Except the way the story goes is actually far more believable. Like, that’s the empowerment story we want, but it’s far more likely that if someone who’s been systematically belittled and told he’s valueless within the system is suddenly told he is the most important person in that society, thus getting all the attention and affection he’s been starved for, he will happily play into that. Particularly when the “use” he suddenly has is the cornerstone of the economy of his society, which based on the expanded universe of the song (as embodied in the Rankin-Bass 1964 film) is making sure Christmas runs without a hitch.

HELL NO! The time for remorse would’ve been when my husband was yelling to breathe. That would’ve been the time for him to show some type of remorse or some type of care for another human being’s life, when he was screaming eleven times that he…can’t…breathe.
