- About halfway through their first year in uni together, Iida has sort of a mental breakdown. He slacks off in his studies, he doesn’t go to any activities on campus anymore, doesn’t really socialize with anyone. Poor boy’s been Going Hard since day one of UA, so he’s burnt out after years of intense training and studying.
- Deku’s there, though, and he slowly coaxes Iida back into studying. He stays with him as often as he can, just sitting patiently in Iida’s lap sometimes while he reads to him for English literature, or helping with economics homework. Iida will wrap his big arms around Deku and bury his face into that mess of dark hair, breathing in the most comforting scent in the world: his boyfriend’s shampoo and the same All Might hoodie he’s worn for the last three days. Iida knows nowhere safer than right there with him.
- They’ve participated in some inter-dormitory activities that are probably against the rules….such as the indoor stair luge. They used a cookie sheet someone stole from the cafeteria for a sled. Iida sat in the back and used his engine Quirk to give them a boost. They won, but the stairs behind them were ruined. Everyone scattered, and by the time the RA’s showed up, Deku and Iida were running for their dorm across campus, hand in hand, laughing the whole way down road.
- Iida has relaxed a lot in uni. He’s less stiff. Still wary of the rules, but more willing to let loose, especially when Deku is with him.
- Deku has filled out significantly since high school. He and Iida go to the gym together on campus to stay fit. Iida isn’t really one for pda, but when he sees Deku in a sleeveless workout hoodie, the outline of his pecs peeking out through the torn holes in his shirt, the sweat darkening the fabric…well, he’s a hotblooded young man, after all. He’ll come up behind Deku, but of course Deku will see him in the mirrors, smiling at him. Iida will just, floomp, collapse onto Deku, wrapping his arms around his thick shoulders and neck, making Deku giggle and squirm.
- “Tenya, I’m in the middle of a rep here!”
- “Nnhn, just wanna hold you for a sec.”
- Deku will just sigh into the side of Iida’s face pressed into his cheek, reach up and gently stroke Iida’s buzzed undercut, turning his face to press a kiss to Iida’s cheek.
- They join the ultimate frisbee team on campus. No reason why. They just decided to one day. They are now an integral part of the team.
- Deku is one of those social butterflies that somehow becomes friends with everyone. Their reputations kinda preceded them when they got to uni, and everyone wanted to meet the Deku and Ingenium. People come up to their table in the cafeteria and start just talking to Deku, asking him questions (sometimes uncomfortably personal), but Deku is always polite about it, and Iida just eats quietly next to him, watching whoever it is that’s approached their table, sizing them up, judging them.
- Sometimes, Deku gets very uncomfortable and flustered, waving his arms and stumbling over his words, a habit he hasn’t really fallen into since the end of high school, and Iida can tell he’s getting anxious from too many questions.
- Sometimes, Iida’s had to ask people to leave.
- More than once, they’ve refused, sneering at him, saying he shouldn’t butt in on their conversation.
- More than once, Iida has stood to his full height, and every time, he silently thanks the gods that he and Deku go to the gym because now he looks really buff and intimidating.
- And every time, people back off. Especially after he grabs Deku’s hand and says really loudly, “I would kindly ask you to leave my boyfriend alone, you inapt interloper!”
- Iida and Deku are a great team in uni, they care for each other and help each other study and will probably end up tying for valedictorian or something the way they work so hard lol
- Also, everyone on their floor (most of them a bunch of buff gym-junkies) thinks they’re the cutest couple in the world. All these big dudebro upperclassmen give them high fives all the time. If Iida is ever caught walking shirtless from the showers, this one guy (who is actually a good friend of theirs) will wolf-whistle and start shouting for Deku to “come get his man, before the other boys on the floor eat him up.” (literally no one else on the floor is gay, but they love having fun with these strong/famous underclasmen.) it’s become something like an alarm clock for the whole floor, and Iida just runs back to his dorm, red-faced and embarrassed, while Deku opens the door for him, grinning and laughing at their friend.
- basically, in university they grow. they have fun, they prosper. there are some dark moments, but it’s always balanced by the strength of their love.

on a textual level, a female character can dress however she wants and shouldn’t be slut-shamed and hated for what she prefers to wear.
on a metatextual level, she might still have been designed with an intention to provide fanservice.
this means that criticising a design, as opposed to a character, is neither misogyny nor slut-shaming. being displeased about the way a character has been designed is not synonymous with hating her.

I once stayed at a game reserve in South Africa, and they had three cheetahs – two males and one female. The boys stuck together (they were brothers), but female cheetahs are solitary, save for when they are raising cubs. Which is hard work for cheetahs, because they don’t/can’t den, she’s working constantly to protect/move her cubs, as well as feeding both them and herself.
Now, these cheetahs ARE in a private reserve, but they’re still essentially wild. But they are more or less accustomed to the presence of people. And this cheetah, Ketswiri, got very badly injured in her leg one time, which usually would be fatal to a cheetah. The staff at the reserve helped her. Another time, she was starving, and they provided her a fresh antelope carcass. And she remembered this, because the science officer was telling us how one time he was watching Ketswiri and her cubs, and she wandered over and dumped all her cubs at his feet, and walked off. Like “watch my kids, I need some me time.” And he was panicking like COME BACK I CAN’T BABYSIT YOUR KIDS WTF
