Seriously, my favourite chapter in Gakuen Babysitters has to be Ryuu’s birthday…

I mean Kotarou being a precious lil bean wanting to make sure his brother has the best birthday by having anyone and everyone give him a hug and wish him happy birthday:

Ugh my heart. And then some of the friggen panels kill me just a little XD

“Even though I’ve never seen this brat but I wish you a Happy birthday!”

And all the babysitter club fam are teasing the crap outta Ryuu and Ryuu is just hella shy about it which is so frackin’ sweet…

Usaida is a babe ngl bahahhaha. Got all the zesty sarcasm I crave.

idk why but when Ryuu says “As…As big as…the universe?” and they just look shooketh af with the world and the moon in the background, all I can hear is that weird “whoooooooooo” howl sound that animu’s use in their SFX…

and then there’s just a procession of hugging for their dear beloved Ryuu and I am for it bc Ryuu is just cutest, hardworking thing and so kind and agh! And all Kota wants is for his nii-chan to be happy because that’s all his nii-chan ever does for him and that melts the heart just a likkle…

AND THEN THEY BRING IN KAMITANI, INOMATA AND USHIMA (Kota offering to grab em obv)…

AND MY FAVOURITE HUG OCCURS BETWEEN THESE TWO:

KAMITANI DOESN’T EVEN HESITATE OR ACT EMBARRASSED OR ANYTHING HE’S JUST LIKE “I got told I gotta hug mah frenn?? imma hug mah frenn” and their broship…like actual big bro/little bro dynamic (even though they’re the same age) is so frackin’ cute like ahhhhhhh this hug had me feeling some type of way (a broship type of way…but ships in this series is a whole other blog post tbh bc it’s a mess up in hurr with these characters)…

and as if I didn’t talk about brothers enough…let us return to the Kashima brothers…

and they’re matching pajamas of plaid bahahahhahahaha that Kota picked out himself of course!

and then of course the final two pages just ends the chapter and the day so perfectly like hot damn the feels!!!

I mean here is a kid who has lost his parents very recently, celebrating the day without them for the first time in his life. And given his birthday lands on the holidays, he usually never gets a chance to celebrate with friends. And now because of his beautiful little brother, he got to spend it surrounded by his wonderful new family. Baa-chan is a doll and I love her so much…she acted so crabby in the beginning but I really don’t see the day she “kicks out” Ryuu and Kota ever happening. That old gal is gonna get too attached and we all know Saikawa would probably watch over them for eternity if it were at all possible…and here is a great and rare moment where Ryuu allows himself to let loose a little and appreciate what he’s been given by the very boy he’s trying so hard to be strong for.

ugh such well-written characters, so happy it’s been made into an anime!

GakuBaby Ch.92 Spoilers

So I got my copy of volume 17 yesterday, and it opens with chapter 92: Inui got a couple of tickets to the aquarium from his mom, but no (girl)friend to go with. While thinking about it, his feet goes on autopilot to the daycare (all the while ignoring Nekota; please notice her already!):
(as usual, just a few pages I lazily translated)

So he thought the Kashima brothers have better use of the tickets and gives them to Ryuuichi.

BUT–

Leave it to Ryuuichi to misunderstand (well he does have a point with Kotarou having free admission lol).

The three of them do go that Sunday to the aquarium, and Kotarou is very happy!
