I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.
“A scam” people are fucking wild.
This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, I’ve been there, and now I’m not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being “duped.” I couldn’t believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?
I once paid for a woman’s bill at the vet…it wasn’t a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she says “I don’t get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?”
So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.
And I don’t care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes.
If absolutely nothing else I guarantee you made the cashier’s week.
While trying to get over the artblock, I’ve found two pages of an old Haikyuu comic in my folder and I decided to finish it. Cause I still love these volleyball dorks a lot
Spoon 2Di issue 42 Free!DF interview
Nanase Haruka (Shimazaki Nobunaga)
Q1 The season finale aired a while back. Please tell us how you feel now that it is over, and what you think of Free! -Dive to the Future-.
“Just as the title says, this season was about diving into the future. I wonder what future awaits us.”
Q2 Haruka used to say “I only swim free,” but in the scene where he competed against Ikuya in the individual medley, I could feel how much Haruka cared for Ikuya, and also Haruka’s own growth as a person, and it really moved me. Regarding that scene, what was on your mind when you were acting?
“I could really feel Haruka’s growth. In episode 1, he said that he swims more than freestyle, but he also said: "when I’m serious, it’s always free.” I think fundamentally, it’s not so different from “I only swim free.” Now that he’s serious about embracing more than just freestyle, I believe Haruka’s world will broaden a lot more from here on. And above all, I’m really happy with the fact that Haruka worked so hard for Ikuya’s sake.“
Q3 In episode 11, Haruka rushed to support Nagisa and Rei at their races. How do you feel about the growth of the underclassmen in this season?
"They have really grown up. Rei-chan has settled into his role as club captain very well. I wanted to see more everyday happenings of everyone at the Iwatobi High school swim club, of Rei, Nagisa and Gou, of course, but also of the first years Romio, Shizuru and Ayumu.”
Q4 In episode 12, there was a scene where Haruka bared his emotions and screamed at the sea. What was on your mind when you were acting? Please tell me your thoughts and also what you were conscious of when acting the scene.
“It’s all about feelings. I think Haruka just wanted to scream at that moment.”
Q5 Also, Makoto and Rin, who were frolicking in the sea with Haruka, are shown to be more grown up in this season. Please tell me your impression on them in Free! -Dive to the Future.
“They have both become independent, and they are both working very hard chasing their own respective dreams which are even more apparent now. Even though they are walking their own paths, but in the end, these different paths cross again, and I think it’s wonderful.
Q6 At the recording studio this season, were there any enjoyable incidents, or anything that left an impression on you?
"Now that Isuzu-chan has joined the cast, the Mikoshiba family is more powerful than ever. Momotarou’s "Yahoo!” is so over the top that at the studio we call him by his nickname “Master Yahoo.” It was a really merry gang, as usual. Yahoo!“
Q7 A message to the fans who watched the show till the end, please.
"Thank you very much for watching over us until the very last episode. Did you enjoy it? I don’t know what future awaits Haruka and the others either, but I’d be very happy if you would continue to support us from here on. To the future!”
