When I first saw this scene I didn’t immediately get what Abe meant. At first I almost thought he was saying that Shun didn’t know what a pain Mihashi was or something.

I also think a lot of people read FMA very very wrong because while it’s name itself is Fullmetal Alchemist the entire plot is about making a boy learn humility, the reason Winry matters as a non combatants figure itself is because of the same reason… So many people who Ed interacts with who have a genuine impact on his personality from Hawkeye to Winry are not alchemists for a reason and that’s because the core truth of it was that alchemists are humans too, there can be no gods among men, and that being human and mortal is not an insult… it’s a thing of pride and a thing of hope.
