Way to go Minnesota! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

the-cassquatch

Here's the full article! Even though we have legislation in the works to make us a trans refuge state, Walz said he felt it was urgent to act on this now with what other states have been doing.

I'm shocked. I am insanely proud. This is my home. I hope we can help you feel safe too.

There’s a lot of bad news right now. I hope this good news spreads as widely as the stories that make us feel afraid.

“But it normalizes—”

IT’S TEN FANFICS ON AO3 FOR A FANDOM THAT NOT EVEN ONE-SEVENTH OF THE POPULATION OF PLANET EARTH KNOWS EXISTS. IT ISN’T “NORMALIZING” ANYTHING, KAREN. STOP CLUTCHING YOUR PEARLS BEFORE YOU CHOKE YOURSELF

ceekari

If you're going after fanfic authors instead of Hollywood directors/bestselling authors, you aren't worried about what's being 'normalized'.

You just want an easy target.

the kicker is he was being asked if his work was coming from the approach of man vs. nature aka “THE ENVIRONMENT STRIKES BACK” but no. his literal words were along the lines of “sharks are not very scary if you are never in the water so i had to make them scarier, and now they have legs.”

Junji Ito has the best fucking take on horror, which is ‘wouldn’t that be weird’ and then he draws it into the most terrifying thing possible.

One of his strangest stories is about a cursed type of honey that, when ingested, is guaranteed to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted. But, if you consume it, you have a 25% of being flattened like a pancake by a giant tree demon. Characters eat it, get addicted, and that addiction forces them to risk it over and over again until they eventually get turned into a gory puddle by this ghost tree thing.

It’s a weird story, but the funny part is that Ito wrote it because he thought it would suck to be a mosquito.

When someone looks at abstract art and is like “ugh, I could’ve made that” it’s like…yeah? You think you could’ve? I like how those squiggles and splatters look, and how the colors play against each other, and I bet you could make something like that too. Wanna give it a try? I’ve got acrylics and tape and cardboard we could experiment on. It’s fun to break art and composition down to its bare essentials without worrying about things like representation or naturalism. Come on, let’s paint some lines.

“i could’ve made that” sure man, lets go. what colors are you drawn to. splash some blue on there, there you go, a splatter. it’s alright if it’s drippy, it’s just abstract. it’s easy. red? okay, cool- making a big smear? sure. paint however, man. use your hands. make a mess. sure, it’s got your handprint, and you were kinda mad at it before. but hey, i like the colors you picked. hey, might not be intentional, but the harsher strokes kinda gave way to softer colors- you had more fun here? cool. anyway, since you don’t like abstract art, you wanna toss this? or are you more attached to this raw expression of emotion than you thought you’d be? do you wanna go back to that art museum now?
