I’d love for him to be a ‘mama’s boy,’ but in a lot of ways he’s still closer to my parents. He gives them random hugs and kisses. I have to ask for mine. So we’ve still got a ways to go. But I used the GI Bill to get a bachelor’s degree. And I’ve got a job where I make real money. I’m proud of myself. I work in a place that I never could have imagined when I was sixteen. I have ‘work friends.’ I spend my day with people who are motivated to be better, not just in work, but as people. I’m doing well. And considering how I started, that’s an amazing thing.”

But I really enjoy this! It’s really funny :D I don’t mind the CGI at all.
I will forever laugh at the fact that Egu is voicing another -transferring-to-another-world mascot XDD (as I referred to him here - Karurusu 2.0)
Suwabe voicing that sphinx was hilarious! XD
And I just realized that megane character is Kakeru’s seiyuu (from Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru). Though I could totally imagine either Totto or Whitey as this character…..

Hi, guys!! Since Tumblr has very rudely killed and messed up a lot of my re-direct links, all my masterposts for translations (drama tracks, songs, subtitles, written materials, etc.) and other text and picture-heavy posts like summaries will now be posted on my WordPress blog!

Nagisa: Water!
Rei: Water.
Makoto: Water.
Nagisa: Haru-chan really loves water!
Makoto: He really hasn’t changed at all.
Rei: He’s the very definition of water itself, free and unconstrained by anything. We must follow his example, too, Nagisa-kun!
Nagisa: Eeeh… but Haru-chan is Haru-chan! Oh, but, but, if we practice a whooooole lot until we’re almost melted in water, maybe we can become like Haru-chan as well? “I only swim free…!” (sparkle☆)
Rei: Hmmm, I can’t say you exactly nailed it.
Nagisa: Whaaat!? Fine, Rei-chan, you give it a shot. Alright, 3, 2, 1, go!
Rei: Huh!? …ahem…“I only swim free”…!
Nagisa: Hmm… 38 points!
Rei: That’s so low!? Anyway, why such an odd number for a score!?
Makoto: Maybe so that it’s a pun for “mackerel”…? (T/N: 3 = sa and 8 = ba form the word saba, mackerel in Japanese)
Nagisa: Ooh! I knew you’d get it, Mako-chan~☆ Nothing says Haru-chan like mackerel! And also, Iwatobi-chan! And, and also…
Rei: What about that beautiful body and those supple muscles?
Nagisa: I like that~! When he swims, he’s like a dolphin, so pretty and so cool~! Anything else, Mako-chan?
Makoto: Let’s see… When I think of Haru, I have the mental image of him taking an afternoon nap at the porch of his backyard often. With the cats in the neighborhood.
Nagisa: I see~! That’s really nice, The kitties must be so warm!
Rei: Hehe, I’m just imagining it and it’s rather cute.

My boyfriend was on the phone with his dad yesterday so I went out to sit on the patio to pet the geese and play on my phone for a bit, and while out there I came across a comic of baby Grimace (yes, that Grimace) being sad because everyone hated his milkshake and saying he wished he never had a birthday. Then there was a follow up where tons of people had commented saying they loved the shake and wished Grimace a happy birthday, and that made him happy again.
This, for whatever reason, emotionally devastated me. I was sobbing. I was ugly crying so bad that even the geese waddled away side-eyeing me.
After a while my bf yelled from inside, "Okay, you ready for dinner?" and I was forced to accept I had to go back in the house a defeated sniffly little wreck.
My boyfriend, who has only ever seen me cry once in the whole year we've been together, looked horrorstruck. He assumed the worst. Someone got hurt. Something was wrong with my family. Someone was mean to me (a cardinal sin). The panic that washed over his face was unparalleled.
He, upon seeing me, (somewhat theatrically) rushed over and grabbed me by the shoulders. "What's wrong, what happened? Are you okay?" he asked, frantic. "What is it?"
I realized how ridiculous the whole situation was and just shook my head.
He was growing more panicked. "What is it? Why are you crying?"
I then had to stand there and look him, this completely normal human being, in the eyes, and blurt out "Grimace"
Confused silence followed.
"....Grimace?"
I nodded.
"...The McDonalds guy...thing?"
I nodded.
"What...what did...Grimace...do to you?"
I then tearfully recounted the silly internet comic that had absolutely broken my heart. And this poor guy--this poor, wonderfully sweet, nice, patient guy--kindly stood there trying to figure out how to comfort me that Grimace was not, in fact, sad. (Nevermind that he's a corporate mascot who isn't real)
This morning my phone rang just after 5am. It was my boyfriend. It was my turn to panic, to assume the worst.
I didn't even have time to say hello before he started excitedly yelling, "Look at the TikTok I just sent you! Look! Open it!"
Confused and not entirely convinced I wasn't still asleep, I opened the TikTok.
An official release from McDonalds confirming Grimace (who still isn't real) did, in fact, feel special on his birthday.
also while we were in the car headed to dinner I remembered the little panel of Grimace crying and I got all teary eyed again, and my boyfriend looked over and, with all the genuine care, compassion, and sympathy this guy could muster, legitimately asked, “Are you having Grimace thoughts again?” which I don’t think I’ll ever let myself live down
