I just want stuff about Hubert and Ferdinand being the Edeleth child’s doting uncles. Hubert denies doting, of course. He doesn’t dote, he has never doted in his life and how dare you suggest that he does (this is a lie, he’s wrapped about that child’s tiny finger and is arguably a bigger pushover than Ferdinand when they use the sad puppy eyes on him.)

At some point the child learns about the concept of playing horsey and it becomes their favorite thing to ride around on Uncle Ferdinand’s back because he will absolutely do this all day to make the child happy. Multiple people have walked in on the prime minister on his hands and knees with a tiny child on his back using his hair as reins while he makes horse noises to their great entertainment.

Hubert is also the champ at getting the child to sleep. His voice just makes them nod off like nothing else. He reads proper bedtime stories when they’re older, but when they’re very small he’ll just bring some boring document to go over and read it out loud since they’re too young to know the difference and it has the same effect. Edelgard and Byleth usually pick out books ahead of time for him to read, because a few times he picked something way too scary and the kid had nightmares (the Fódlan equivalent of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark). Ferdinand prefers to sing them to sleep and is also very good at getting the kid to settle down for bedtime.

One time the child climbed too high up a tree and got stuck, and the protective instincts kicked in so hard for Hubert that it temporarily overrode his acrophobia and he immediately climbed right up to rescue them. He got just a little panicky on the way back down, but nobody noticed except for Ferdinand, who gave him a kiss on the cheek and told him he was very brave (which made Hubert turn very red indeed.)

For everyone complaining about how these two can get arrested and it won’t affect their careers, you’re right. It most likely won’t hurt their careers. That’s why they keep going out and doing it. They’re using their platform to their advantage. They’re both white, of an older generation, and famous enough to be recognized. They’re holding their generation accountable and making an effort to show up and enforce change. This isn’t them advertising a TV show or some bs, they’re there to help
