The fun of skating
After Langa got out of the zone, ADAM lements that he doesn’t have anyone to be by his side after all. However, Langa reaches out his hand to ADAM just like Kikuchi had once done, to teach him the fun of skating.

Q: What would you name your skateboard?
Hatanaka: I once had a bike that I named. It was a red bike so I called it “redman”.
Kobayashi: That’s too obvious(lol). What color is your skateboard now?
Hatanaka: It’s black so I guess I’ll call it “black tiger”.
Kobayashi: “Black tiger” like the shrimp?
Hatanaka: Eh? What I was picturing wasn’t the shrimp! Then how about “black jaguar”? Wah, that’s so cool!(lol) It’s the best!
Kobayashi: You don’t want to put your name in it?
Hatanaka: Huh? My name?
Kobayashi: Like “Black Tasu jaguar” or something
Hatanaka: That’s so uncool! That’s awful (lol).
Kobayashi: I wonder what name I should choose. I think it should be named after something I like.
Hatanaka: After something you like?
Kobayashi: I like yakiniku.
Hatanaka: So you’re going to name it after yakiniku(lol)? Then what part?
Kobayashi: For a part… tongue
Hatanaka: You’re going to put “tongue” in the name?
Kobayashi: Also I’d like to go on a trip to Hokkaido, so I’d like to put Hokkaido in the name too. My board is blue and white so that seems appropriate for hokkaido. So it would be the “Hokkaido cow tongue special”
Hatanaka: That’s just the name of a food item!(lol)
Kobayashi: I guess something something gou* would be okay. Like “cow tongue Hokkaigou”.
Hatanaka: well I guess that’s fine? (lol)
Kobayashi: Then it will be the “Kobayashi cow tongue Hokkaigou"
Hatanaka: that’s so lame. Why do you want to put your name in it!? (lol)
*号(gou) means model or edition etc. It’s a common thing to go at the end of names of things.

Midorikawa and Matsumoto interview
Q: What would you name your skateboard?
Midorikawa: I feel like I should name it "zero” after the “zero system” in “Gundam Wing”. It would be too embarrassing to just name it “wing zero” after my suit, so it’s named after the system that suit uses. And “zero” is actually pretty normal so it seems like something other people would use. I think it’s best if it isn’t too specific.
Matsumoto: Even when I had my own board, there were a lot of problems with the place or the time so I wasn’t able to ride it much. If that board had a consciousness it would probably be full of frustration. It would be like “why won’t you skate with me?” So thinking of it in that way I wondered what name would be best and I decided on “king of frustration”
Midorikawa: That’s a really long name to say (lol).
Matsumoto: When I talk about it in normal conversation it would just be shortened to “Frust” I guess (lol)
Ookouchi interview
Q: What would you name your skateboard?
Probably “Jiro”. Since I’m Ichirou. Rather than a thing it would be more like a little brother I’d want to be with.

When he as young, Kikuchi taught him to skate and ever since then he’s been caught up in it’s appeal. He is part of a family full of politicians, so while he’s following his dead father’s footsteps as a young politician, he’s also gravely injured several skaters in search of his Eve.
He’s the son of an employee of the Shindo family. He was originally Ainosuke’s father’s secretary, and later because Ainosuke’s secretary as he followed in his father’s footsteps. For Ainosuke’s future, he wants to stop him from skating before the things he does at the “S” become national news.

Interview between Hatanaka (Reki) and Kobayashi (Langa)
Hatanaka: I think there will definitely be a lot of people who like Shadow.
Kobayashi: Rather than thinking of him as “cool” people will probably thinking “shadow, is cute”
Hatanaka: He is cute! Shadow is cute!
Kobayashi: Is Shadow the heroine!?
Hatanaka: ……No, he’s not the heroine (lol). But even though he’s not the heroine he’s cute!
Kobayashi: To begin with, when Reki starts teaching Langa about the “S”, their relationship like Reki is the “owner” and Langa is the “dog” that he is teaching all sorts of tricks to. But in actuality the dog is wild (lol).
Hatanaka: Even though he tells him “it’s okay to eat now” he just keeps “waiting” so it’s actually like he’s trying to shake the owner off (lol).
Kobayashi: But as soon as you think that he’ll have eaten the owner’s food too (lol). I think thinking of their relationship in that way is interesting.

Series writer Ookouchi Ichirou on Cherry blossom and Joe
-It’s really fun watching Cherry blossom and Joe interact
Ookouchi: The idea is that since they’ve been together so long, when they fight it’s like they go back to being elementary or middle schoolers.
-Even though they’re normally calm, as soon as they get together they devolve into battles of low level insults (lol). Did you think of those insults Ookouchi-san?
Ookouchi: it was both Director Utsumi (Hiroko) and me. We said, since they have this sort of relationship, they’d probably say these sorts of things (lol). Since they’re both proper adults, I think they wouldn’t fight in front of people, but when it’s just the two of them they get careless. So when they start fighting MIYA and shadow just ignore them saying “they’re at it again” (lol).

Ever since the incident where his father burned his board, he stopped hanging out with Cherry blossom and Joe and just started searching for his own Eve. When he sees Langa’s natural talent at skating, he decides he’ll try to get him into the zone through the tournament final and make him his Eve.

2. Vabo-chan is a mascot character created by Fuji TV that shows up during volleyball game broadcasts. It’s basically a white ball with hands and feet and creepy looking eyes
3. The “itoko”/Itoko pun is back! Itoko is the Japanese word for cousin and also Kuroba’s cousin’s name

For April fools day the official SK8 Twitter account has become a cherry blossom fan account! The fan’s name is Fujimoto Koharu and her location is in a mine somewhere!
