He has the Italian word for sun, “Sole”, on his deck, and a tattoo modeled after the sun on his left shoulder. Shadow seems to have not had the courage to get a tattoo, so his is just body paint.
How do you think Joe felt as he was watching Langa and ADAM’s beef in the final episode? Or you could tell us how you felt when you were recording it, Matsumoto-san?
Matsumoto: I think he felt strongly that he wanted ADAM’s way of thinking to change. I think he feels that him losing to Langa has created this chance. Of course I feel the same too.
At the end there was a grand finale like epilogue. How did you feel about it?
Matsumoto: Rather than a grand finale, it made me have fun imagining how they would continue from now on.
What scene of Joe’s left a big impression on you?
Matsumoto: The scene in episode 6 where he was talking alone with Reki about skating was nice.
Joe and Cherry blossom were written together a lot. Who do you think Cherry blossom is to Joe?
Matsumoto: They have a healthy distance, so I think it’s a good relationship. They have the type of relationship where they can lay themselves bare to each other.
Sakurayashiki, Nanjou, and ADAM spent time together in high school. When they meet again as adults, Cherry blossom and Joe both try to challenge him to a beef, but I feel like there’s a difference in the heat of Cherry blossom and Joe’s feelings towards ADAM. What do you think of Joe’s feelings toward ADAM?
Matsumoto: I think his feelings toward ADAM are complicated. I think his feelings about he can’t return to how he was and that he can’t forgive his atrocious actions as a skater and as a human are intertwined. I also think he’s irritated that he wants him to return to how he was but he won’t.
It seems that Director Utsumi refers to Sakurayashiki’s delinquent days in high school as his “dark past”, but what do you refer to him as in his high school days?
Matsumoto: It wasn’t really shown in the series how much of a delinquent he was, but judging from Joe and ADAM being there, it was probably more of a “grey” past than a “dark” past.

Matsumoto: Happy birthday! No matter how many years pass, stay just as you are.
What do you think that Joe would do on his birthday?
Matsumoto: Of course he would have a party with girls and his fellow skaters.

alright here’s today’s controversial post. a good amount of you on here will be like “english was my favorite subject 😍😍😍” and then reblog posts like “here is why sex scenes CAN’T have symbolism” and “stop consuming media with toxic characters” like okay so what were you doing in your english classes then. cause it apparently wasn’t learning or analyzing. i’m pretty sure it was doodling pictures of eyes.

Wow the limited event that is no longer available that they said they’re never releasing on dvd is the thing that people complain about. I wasn’t even planning to post a link since it’s not mine but people asked for it.
Btw everything I post is illegal and disrespectful to the creators in that way. Yes even the magazine articles. Spoon has made Twitter posts telling people to not even talk about the articles on Twitter.

I thought this art for Joe’s birthday was hilarious but it was one of the few parts I didn’t address in my summary of the event lol… when they were talking about Carla at one point Matsumoto mentioned that he thought the C for Carla was like an eye test.
As a wearer of glasses outside of Japan I have never seen this chart. I don’t know how often it is used in other countries but this is the most common way to test vision in Japan.
So anyway, he referenced the eye chart and they started joking about Carla testing cherry’s vision and then Midorikawa was like “We don’t know what his room is like it might have Cs everywhere” and they talked about how there might be Cs that pop up to lead him places he needs to go.
So that art is referencing that interaction. Cherry is asleep and Carla is singing happy birthday to Joe for his birthday at midnight.
