It’s a combination of Ramuda and Jakurai’s names while also still being a word (total emptiness or a state of nirvana in which this total emptiness is achieved). The “jaku” part is from Jakurai, and the “kuu”, meaning empty, is from the lambda (ramuda) being used to mean emptiness or nothingness in multiple mathematical and computer science applications.

This is a complete translation of the Takeuchi Naoko-related texts from the artbook 5-nin no amajin/purojin ten / 5 Amateurs Turned Pro Exhibit, available for download at Miss Dream. It contains a long 50-questions interview, as well as Takeuchi’s comments on the 20 pieces of color art she chose to include in the exhibit. It would probably be best to read this in tandem with the scans available at Miss Dream, so you can look at the art while reading her comments.

Color Boards pt 1
Reki’s boards
shows the curve of the board, how the wheels look when they’re moving vs when they’re still, lots of scratches.
The second picture is the board from the first ep that gets destroyed. It says bits fall off of it when he skates with it.

It’s wide so that Joe can grab it to do the missile move. There’s marks on the side from where he’s gripped the board by doing the missile move so often.

The horns can be used as a handle and the picture of him holding the board says “cool board carrying method”.

One of my favorite notes: Next to Langa it says he didn't know how to put on the yukata so mom (Cherry) helped him put it on.
Shadow is wearing shorts under his.
Miya is wearing a jinbei for kids instead of a yukata since they didn't have his size (he's as tall as me I'm slightly offended?? lmao)
Cherry is staying at a different hotel so the pattern of his is different.
And in the color book, the note is that Joe has the same yukata as Cherry.
